When I create a website for you I gather (or photograph) images, your logo, create or copy (from an existing site or brochure) pages, posts. Take it with You
One thing about some of the free website services is that your pages are trapped in their admin. No way to transfer the information to another service provider except copy and paste, which can be a lengthy process especially for a newbie. With the WordPress content management system it’s possible to download a file that can be imported to a WordPress service provider so you can keep the content you have built up over time.
- Text – All Posts and Pages, a history of your website
- Images – All images posted to your website since it began
- Style – Theme and Child Theme to recreate the look
- Comments – Comments from your site Visitors, saved for posterity
- Tags – WordPress logs and saves the little things that are important
