I update a number of client’s websites, and use tools to automate updates. It really makes the websites look current, and also is great for SEO. Google especially likes it when a website changes. Also, in order to create a type of website that can function in that way, “Posts” are used. Be it an event, a bit of news, a promotion of some sort that is time based. WordPress posts are well indexed and that means seen by search engines… people.
I also watch for SEO display when updating a website.
I charge based on my hourly rate, somewhere between 1 hour a month = very small amount of yearly updates. To more extensive updates which I estimate based on volume in 1 hour a month increments.*
*Even though some clients send a year’s worth of updates at a time. I set them up and program them for the year ahead. So I usually charge a monthly hourly rate to spread them over the entire year in which I will continue to monitor the website and the updates.
*A la cart one-time website updates also available.
